Sept 9-10, 2006

PodCamp is a BarCamp-style meetup for podcasters and listeners, bloggers and readers, and new media types of all stripes. Our first PodCamp is PODCAMP BOSTON: SEPT 9th-10th, 2006 in the BOSTON AREA, accessible by public transportation. (Venue still forthcoming)

UNconferences are FREE to attend. You just register and attend. Note that only registered attendees will receive event-branded swag like T-shirts, stickers, etc.

You do NOT need to be a podcaster to attend. If you're interested in podcasting, if you're a listener, if you're a podsafe musician (or want to be), or just someone curious, WELCOME!

PodCamp's current list of organizers:

WANTED: Collaborators, Sponsors, Participants, a Venue, Bands. Check out the Sponsor link.

The plan behind unconferences like a BarCamp is that everyone pitches in. Up front, the most important things to find are: a date, a venue, and sponsors. We also need people thinking of ways to house approximately 200 people (not sure the numbers, but let's plan that and go backwards) for a full two day event.

The venue doesn't HAVE to have the lodging (though it was neat that BarCamp Boston offered lodging right at the facility via indoor "tenting."

We'll also want sponsors and help with a tee shirt (logo's already done) for attendees (plan 200 shirts), possibly a badge to wear during the event (as this was helpful at BarCamp). We permit small sponsor logos on the arm of the tee shirt. Check out BostonSponsors for our wish list.

Wanted: Podsafe Bands for the event. Know someone who's contributing their music under podsafe conditions? Send them our way.

As the event unfolds, we'll ask you for participation in something: a gear show-n-tell, tips on formats, mash-up experiences, interviewing skills, podsafe music performances.
