OVERVIEW
Sept 9-10, 2006 Bunker Hill Community College, Boston, 9 AM - 5 PM
Welcome Rocketboom viewers
PodCamp is a FREE BarCamp-style meetup for podcasters and listeners, bloggers and readers, and new media types of all stripes. Our first PodCamp is PODCAMP BOSTON: SEPT 9th-10th, 2006 at Bunker Hill Community College (sponsored by the Museum of Science, Boston), accessible by public transportation. Get BostonDirections <-- here.
You do NOT need to be a podcaster to attend. If you're interested in podcasting, if you're a listener, if you're a podsafe musician (or want to be), or just someone curious, WELCOME! Check out the PodCamp Boston Sessions
Friday-night party at the Berkman Center
On Friday, September 8, 2006, from 5:30-7:30 PM (room TBA), The Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School will be hosting a free party for PodCamp Boston attendees in celebration of the history and impact for podcasting. The Berkman Center will provide food and drink, as well as a bit of podcasting fun! To sign up for the event, please RSVP by end of day on Wednesday, September 6; with "PODCAMP BOSTON" in the SUBJECT line, by e-mail to friday@podcamp.org. The party will take place at Harvard Law School; the exact room will be announced early next week. Please watch this space and the PodCamp Blog.
We're currently looking into getting together at a local establishment right after PodCamp for drinks and dinner. Probably from 5:30 - 7:30. After that let's organize some dinners right here on the wiki for Saturday night.
There are many places to join together to continue the conversation on the Saturday night of Pod Camp. The North End, The South End, Newbury Street, Fenway, Cambride, etc... This area is alive with great food and music. Let us start a discussion this week and see if we can develop some plans. Let's see what arrangements can be made before hand to keep the dialog going.

CONTRIBUTE
Announcing PodCamp Plus! PodCamp is free for attendees. This will not change. However, if you would like to contribute $100 or more, we will aggregate all the content from PodCamp onto a data DVD, and PodCamp Plus subscribers will receive the DVD. No need to subscribe to the hundreds of data sources and feeds you'd otherwise need to capture the weekend.

BEHIND THE EVENT
Organizers (aka who to call for help)
LOGISTICS
The plan behind unconferences like a BarCamp is that everyone pitches in. Up front, the most important things to find are: sponsors. (date and venue secured)
We'll also want sponsors and help with a tee shirt (logo's already done) for attendees (plan 200 shirts), possibly a badge to wear during the event (as this was helpful at BarCamp). We permit small sponsor logos on the arm of the tee shirt. Check out BostonSponsors for our wish list.
Wanted: Podsafe Bands for the event. Know someone who's contributing their music under podsafe conditions? Send them our way.
As the event unfolds, we'll ask you for participation in something: a gear show-n-tell, tips on formats, mash-up experiences, interviewing skills, podsafe music performances.
